PDI Front Mount Intercooler Kit – Nissan GQ Patrol TD42

A complete front mount intercooler kit from Performance Diesel Intercoolers (PDI) for the Nissan GQ Patrol TD42. Moving the intercooler from the top of the engine to behind the grille puts it straight in the path of cold, fresh air — so it cools the charge far better than a factory or aftermarket top mount, especially when towing, touring or working the engine hard off-road.

Why go front mount

• Much lower intake air temperatures and less heat soak
• EGTs reduced by up to 100°C under load (PDI testing)
• Better air/fuel ratios, throttle response and fuel economy
• Headroom for higher-horsepower builds

What's in the kit

• High-efficiency bar and plate intercooler core
• 2.5" stainless steel pipework
• Hot side piping with a 90° silicone reducer for the turbo connection

Fitment

• Nissan GQ Patrol (Y60) with TD42 turbo diesel
• Choose the variant to match your turbo: aftermarket turbo, or factory turbo with the 3-bolt flange
• Suits low and high mounted turbos. Low mount connects as supplied; for a high mount, the stainless pipe usually needs a small adjustment and the silicone turned to line up with the intercooler
• Ford Maverick: may fit, but check air-con condenser clearance first — some short wheelbase models have the receiver drier at the front, which blocks installation unless the A/C parts are swapped to Patrol items
